Jamie joined Carmichael & Stanton, LLC in 2015. Her practice is focused on property tax appeals, probate, wills, civil litigation, and criminal defense.

Jamie has litigated over 20 jury trials and countless proceedings in front of a judge alone. Her experience spans all types of criminal cases including: contempts, misdemeanors, and felonies. Jamie took a particular interest in prosecuting animal cruelty cases and won a national award in 2013 for her efforts.

As staff counsel in the Washington State Senate, Jamie drafted bills and amendments on a variety of issues ranging from mental health to fish habitat. Jamie enjoys legal writing and knows how to create a proper trial court record to preserve key issues if an appeal is needed. Due to her time both in the legislature and prosecutor's office she is very comfortable with public speaking and enjoys litigation.

Jamie grew up in Eugene, and graduated from Marist High School. She played division I collegiate volleyball at Eastern Washington University. She graduated with honors from EWU in 2004. Jamie later attended Willamette University College of Law. During law school, Jamie served as student bar association president, externed for the Oregon Court of Appeals, and worked as a certified law clerk for the Marion County District Attorney's Office. When she graduated in 2009, she was honored with the Bruce Spaulding Memorial Award for Trial Advocacy.

Jamie and her husband reside in Eugene. She is David Carmichael's daughter and became the owner of Carmichael & Stanton, LLC upon his retirement in 2022. The Stanton's other beloved roommates include their cat Mitts and dog Buster. Jamie is a lifelong Oregon Duck fan and loves going to the Oregon coast with her family.
